ODN Trailer
Stump Jumper Class SatCom Trailer
The Stump Jumper class of satellite trailers has been designed for off road work in harsh conditions. Unlike smaller and less robust trailer designs, the Stump Jumper is built on 4" steel rails, a 3500 pound axle and full size 10 ply truck tires, with a spare. As the trailer with electronics weighs in at less than 1500 pounds, the trailer can handle very rough conditions. The VSAT antenna system mounts on a heavy duty steel diamond plate deck with corresponding steel rails that match up to the VSAT antenna mounting system perfectly. With the included Bull Dog jacks (the best) the trailer provides a stable and level platform for any high performance VSAT antenna systems.
A locking steel equipment cabinet is included in the design that will accommodate the Spacenet ION's as well as cables and other needed tools. This cabinet can be optionally environmentally controlled with a industrial heat/cooling package. Several types of generators are also supported and can be provided.
In short, it makes little sense to field a $40,000 automated VSAT system on a cheap trailer initially designed to haul wood on. While these antenna systems are designed to be vibration resistant, they can only stand so much. By mounting the antenna system on a vehicle or a trailer designed to deploy it, not just carry it, you will save more than the cost of the trailer in repairs to the VSAT antenna. You will also insure a stable pointing platform that will keep the antenna on target and more resistant to wind loads.
The Spacenet version of the Stump Jumper trailer is delivered integrated with the antenna system and all electronics. All systems, including the modem, are completely commissioned, checked out and burned in. Vehicle connections and lights are ready to go. Just bolt on your license plate and roll.
The trailer can be towed by any ordinary vehicle or truck, requires a 2" ball. Bull Dog hitches can be supplied optionally.
