The ODN Network
For operations that are mission critical and need voice/video and data, we will offer the Orbital Data Network, designed by satellite professionals, for emergency responders. The blending of the very best satellite technology, the most advanced teleports and a support crew with years of experience in the field makes this network the one to join.
Most satellite phone technologies are prone to disconnects and need to be used in the middle of a field to access the network, Responders want to make high quality, stable conference calls and tie in multiple agencies to discuss the proper response to an emergency. The ODN STAC system has been designed to do just that.
If you just need occasional internet access, we may not be your first choice. But if you need banks of dependable, easy to use telephones, actual broadband service and the ability to support all the major brands of Land Mobile Radio hardware, then we are the network to join.
“The most interoperatable piece of communications technology we have access to is a basic telephone and a 10 digit number. Everyone older than five is trained in how to use it.”

As each agency, each state and each association joins the ODN system, they also become interoperable with each other. They can e-mail, have telephone conversations and even provide trunks to each others radio networks, without leaving the ODN facility and our satellite. This means the internet can even be down as well as a wide scale telephone outage can occur and we can still provide service to our satellite sites.
